I came across this article in the Metro a few weeks ago and found it pretty interesting. Money as we know it is changing, and notes will soon be polymer plastic rather than cotton based paper. As a paper lover, I was skeptical at first, but long term it may work out better. It also means that your money is more likely to survive if it gets left in those jeans you have just put in the wash!

I personally like the design of our money, it’s simple and effective and looks important, a little old fashioned yes, but I think that’s why we take it seriously. There is a place for quirky and innovative design, and maybe our wallets isn’t one of them.
